We’ve officially begun a new year. We can analyze our decisions, look back and see what we’ve accomplished and what could use an improvement. Of course, we can also continue to talk about the technological war between Apple and Samsung, but did you know that there are some really cool phones that you probably don’t know much about? It’s time to learn, Johnny Boy.
Xiaomi Mi Mix
If taking into consideration the price:quality ratio, the Xiaomi phones are pretty decent, not to mention their design and software.
Mi Mix is a perfect example of what we mean. Although not the first “frameless” phone in the world, it is cheaper than others if you’re really into this particular design.
One thing we aren’t a fan of is the 6.4 inch display, and unfortunately there is no sign of Xiaomi making it a smaller phone. However, if having small-tablet-like-phones is your thing, you do you!
The release of smartphones Neffos of TP-Link was a surprise for many users. This led to the unexpected appearance of Neffos X1 and X1 Max at IFA 2016. Neffos X1 might actually be considered a flagship phone since it can compete with popular midrange smartphones.
This smartphone enjoys a sympathetic look, compact housing, fingerprint scanning platform MediaTek Helio P10, with an High Definition screen and more.
The last Motorola phones that we’ve used was a Motorola Pebble and a Motorola Razr! Seeing how far they’ve come is impressive, with all day battery (30 hours) with an 8 hour charge in 15 minutes (better than Google Pixel?), an ultra thin 5.5 inch HD design, a fingerprint reader, and much more.
Huawei Mate 9 Porsche Design
Cooperation between two well known brands led to the creation of an really handsome smartphone.
In early 2016, Huawei amazed everyone with its flagship P9, which has two cameras developed by Leica. As expected, Huawei P9 was one of the best camera phones of 2016. It was logical to see Leica again in the autumn renewal of the Mate 9 (phablet).
The basic model Mate 9 received useful new features, but the teaser Mate 9 Porsche Design and the following Mate 9 Pro software astonished everyone.
Unexpected was the collaboration with Porsche Design. We witnessed the first Huawei smartphone with AMOLED display with a resolution 2K and curved edges.
Google Pixel / Pixel XL
The Google Nexus lovers weren’t just a small group, and it was quite a liked phone. Little did people expect Google to completely drop the brand and adapt to complete Android handsets; introducing the Google Pixel and the Pixel XL, becoming one of the best devices of the year
Compared to the Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy, they are quite expensive; but we have personally used it and boy is it a beautiful piece of tech.
