Well sorry, that isn’t happening yet.
However, we do have some decent news for you. 
Yes, exactly what you’re thinking. “Is that a plane?” “Is that a super-hero?” No! It’s a flying car.
If you have a few (or… more than a few, actually) thousand dollars to spare, you can pre order the world’s first flying car starting this year.
AeroMobil is a Slovakian flying-car startup that has been in the works for the past couple of years now. This is set to be unveiled at Top Marques Monaco, an exclusive exhibition featuring the world’s greatest supercars, diamond dealers, drones, and now a flying car; on April 20th!
We live in a world where we spend more time in traffic than at our actual destinations. We see these when there are spoilt traffic lights, a cop directing cars, construction workers on the road, or even a common car accident. How much of an impact will air-cars have in our lives? While the majority of the automobile industry is focused on making super patrol cars, artificial-intelligence-equipped systems, or simply better engines; AeroMobil has seen the potential in a concept car that will reach new heights ~ literally.
AeroMobil 3.0
With a fuel efficiency of 12.5 kmpl, the AeroMobil flying car has had many different versions till what they believe to be a solid look to present to the world. Although they haven’t mentioned exactly what all has been done behind the actual making of this innovation, “AeroMobil is completely integrated aircraft as well as a functioning four-wheeled car, powered by hybrid propulsion. By combining aero and car functionality in perfect harmony it heralds a new era in efficient and exciting travel, offering users an unparalleled choice of transport in the road or in the air“.
The AeroMobil 3.0 had a top road speed of 160 kmph, and an air speed of 200 kmph. We are expecting to see higher numbers for the version that will be announced in a couple of days.
The Slovakian company has successfully raised $3.2 million in funding, and are focused on making person transport more efficient, as well as environmentally friendly. A bit of reality check for those who are overly excited, in 2015 they actually had one of their prototypes crash in a test flight. Fortunately, the pilot (and creator) only suffered a few minor injuries as he was able to deploy the vehicle’s parachute system on time. Is this something to fear, 2 years after it happened? Will we see situations like this often?
