Which smartphone do you have?
It’s been a long year. We’ve seem many innovations in the field of technology. May it be a step closer to living on mars, voices you can talk to in the middle of the night, or most importantly, our everyday-use smartphones.
In February I actually made a list of the top 7 smartphones we could be expecting this year. I nailed some of them, but others… not so much (I got the iPhone 8 and 8 plus right, but the X definitely caught me by surprise).
More often than not, I get people asking me advice on what phone to get (while I’m stuck on my iPhone 6s for a few more years to come). It’s either that, or asking me why one is better/worse than the other.
Therefore, I’ve decided to go ahead and create a short list of my favourite smartphones of 2017 (in no specific order).
1. iPhone X
Okay, I know I said this was in no specific order but I’m straight up telling you that this is my favourite of the lot. I even wrote an article and recorded a video on it. No reason.
Some call it the most luxurious phone on the market – I can’t say I disagree. It has a high quality packed end-to-end screen (which comes with the price tag too), and has to be Apple’s best smartphone ever made. The photos taken on this will make you drop out of your online photography lessons where you aren’t really learning anything. It takes a bit getting used to if you’re an older iPhone user – but it’s worth it.
2. Samsung s8
What? You remember me writing about this too? Dang, thanks dude. It’s no secret that I’m not an Android fan – but this phone did make me consider switching for a second.
Being one of the best phones on the market, it came up with the 100% screen and facial recognition before its competitors #kudos.
price might attract a few (since it’s cheaper than when it first released), though many prefer the Note 8 and complain about the poorly placed fingerprint reader on the s8. Not only is this bad boy (or.. bad girl?) quite fast, but you should see some of the pictures people have taken with this flagship phone.
3. Google Pixel 2
If the Pixel 1 didn’t impress you, the Pixel 2 is sure to do the trick. This is Android the way Google intended (specially if you prefer using your phone with one hand instead of two). If I told you you could also use it while showering, would it impress you then? (THIS IS ACTUALLY WATERPROOF).
Not only is the price way lower than other mentioned phones, but the Pixel 2’s camera is said to be better than any other phone on the market (maybe that makes up for its lack of a headphone jack though)
4. Huawei Mate 10 Pro
If battery life is your thing, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro will not disappoint. Released October of this year, this smartphone packs a powerful battery, a powerful camera, and pure beauty. You can even connect it to a TV to launch a “desktop mode”.
I understand Samsungs and iPhones are a very popular choice, but I personally use a Huawei P9 Lite and if that is really decent, I can only imagine that this one excels in every field.
I guess my February article wasn’t too far off.
These are the 4 smartphones I feel have made an enormous impact on your 2017 (or at least 1-2 of them, more than others).
Would you have added any other in the top 4?
